Homily for the Eleventh Sunday in ordinary time year B June 16 2024

Ezekiel 17: 22-24; Psalms 92; 2Corinthians 5:6-10; Mark 4:26-34

Ever pondered the many facets of God's kingdom? It's not just a heavenly destination but a journey that starts right here, in our hearts and communities. Every action, every choice, plants the seeds for our eternal home.

Today's message is all about growth—how we nurture our place in God's perfect kingdom. Remember, it's not about grand gestures but the small, consistent acts of goodness that shape our destiny.

Consider the farmer's mystery: seeds sown in faith, sprouting into life without his knowing how. We, too, plant seeds—of thought, of companionship. What grows from these seeds? That's on us. Choose wisely, for we reap what we sow.

Bad company, negative thoughts—they're like weeds in the garden of our soul. Uproot them! Cultivate a heart of love, kindness, and godliness. It's the sure path to a harvest of heavenly joy. flower

Consistency is key. Like the mustard seed's slow but sure growth, our small, faithful steps lead to great things. Don't be fooled by the 'little' in little vices or virtues. Each one has the power to shape our eternal story.

So, let's trust in God's timing, embrace humble beginnings, and grow where we're planted. Our small acts of devotion today are the branches that will shelter many tomorrow. Let's bloom where we're planted and become blessings to the world!

God bless you all
